HOMERTON WEEKLY BULLETIN MAY 27TH 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

I thought you might like to see this beautiful picture brought in by Ivo in East Room this week. It shows the rainbow over this area at the weekend.

Thank you to all of you for your continued support in helping to keep us safe.

The big excitement for many children this week has been the reopening of the park next door.  Some children have already enjoyed having a visit there and in the coming weeks I

am sure all the classes will be going.

The children have also been enjoying acting out the Bear Hunt story around the garden – this is one of our Core Book range of stories that children get to know really well during the year.

Next term we are hoping to have caterpillar eggs arrive and watch as they grow into caterpillars and then butterflies which we release into the Homerton gardens – a lovely book to accompany this is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is a training day for us so the Centre is closed.

The staff are looking forward to training focusing on Expressive Arts and Design – thank you to Mitali who is leading the day.

For those not attending holiday club we are due back at school on Monday 7th June.

For anyone who needs to apply for the EU settling scheme here is the information – please be aware the deadline is 30th June 2021.

EU Settling Scheme Children’s Leaflet

With the application deadline of 30 June 2021 now less than 50 days away, it is crucial that eligible parents apply to the EUSS themselves and check whether they need to do so on behalf of their children. No child of any age is covered by a parent’s application to the EUSS.   The Home Office has produced an EUSS children’s leaflet, in partnership with the University of Liverpool. It has been designed with children in mind and is intended to support children and parents with information to help them apply to the EUSS.   The Rosmini Centre have summarised and translated the information regarding EUSS and children’s applications for easy reading and have put this on their Facebook and website.

Wishing you all a very happy half term.
