Homerton Weekly Bulletin 13th May 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wishing all our families who are celebrating a very happy Eid ul fitr today.

Thank you all for helping to make our bake and cake stall such a success yesterday.  It was lovely to have so many delicious bakes and cakes to enjoy and share as a community.  You were enormously generous and we raised an amazing £561.69p.

As we managed to raise so much, we thought it might be nice to share the proceeds between our original charity the British Asian Trust and The Disasters Emergency Committee.

The Disasters Emergency Committee are working across the world to support those suffering most during the current Covid crisis.

It has also been very nice this week to actually welcome parents into the Centre for parent consultations.  If you wish to talk further with class staff, about anything, please do get in touch.

Today we were lucky enough to have Roy our caretaker visit with Toby his German Shepherd puppy.  Your children may well talk about him over the coming weeks. Roy usually trains his puppies to work as Pets as Therapy dogs– helping children and adults who are frightened of dogs to become more confident with them.

I joined South Room today to visit our Old Orchard garden – it is a very peaceful place to be in – if you don’t know where it is do ask and we can show you.

When visiting the Old Orchard the children have the chance to build dens, listen to birds, look for mini-beasts and do a number of other smaller group activities – today’s session involved bark rubbing and dancing.

If you would like a place in holiday club please do get in touch with the office or Mel.

Next week is Walk to School Week, so might be a good opportunity to get out of the car and walk, cycle or scoot to school – even if you drive part of the way.

The Old Orchard with South Room today.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend and thank you again for your generosity.

Best wishes

Alex and all at Homerton
